In this article we will discover the adjustment of the EEP time. This setting allows EEP to have its own time system differentiated from your computer’s time system. Why ? This is what we are going to see now.

Au sommaire

In general

The possibility for EEP to have its own time system means that you are no longer dependent on the system time of your computer. Indeed, let’s imagine your favorite network in action in the 3D window and you would like to visualize it in a night situation. Problem, it’s really 2:00 p.m. on your computer. You are not going to modify the Windows© time system or speed up time so that night falls faster!!

Let’s get serious and think for a moment. First, where is the EEP time displayed?… answer in the image below:

EEP Time interface

The EEP time is displayed in the lower right hand corner of the 2D and 3D windows. If you don’t see it, just go to the View menu and check that the Status bar command is checked.

The time is displayed in hh:mm:ss format. To modify it, click on the Extras menu and choose the Time Properties command. A window will appear:

EEP Time

This window contains two input areas and two buttons. To adjust the time, click on the part of the time to modify. As you can see, nothing too complicated.

The Time Interval Factor is used to “speed up” the EEP time relative to the actual time. Let’s take an example :

  1. With a default factor = 1, one second in reality = 1 second in EEP,
  2. With a factor = set to 10, one second in reality = 10 seconds in EEP.

Video demonstration below:

As a reminder, the EEP time is only active in the 3D window when you are using your network otherwise it is paused. It is saved in the project file each time you save. Your networks may therefore have different hours!
